Deadline has been extended until May 31st.  Don’t miss out!

We are happy to announce that we are offering two scholarships again this year to provide financial assistance to individuals that are enrolled as high school seniors or home-schooled within the Stillwater Central School District.  We have two scholarship applications dependent upon current education and future plans.

The difference between the two is one is geared toward a graduating senior who is planning on a secondary education in their chosen field, the other is for a senior who has completed a trade program (BOCES) and will be entering their field of study, apprenticeship, or further training in their field.

A look back at 2019…

 

• Since launching “Bundles for Babies” in April 2019, Friends have created and gifted 19 bundles of books, bibs, and most importantly our love to babies and their families throughout our communities … thus planting seeds of connection between our library and our neighbors.

• In the spring of 2019, Friends awarded $1000 in educational scholarships to deserving Stillwater High School Seniors … thus sowing our love of learning in our youth and growing their future.

• In the fall of 2019, Friends once again supported the Library’s flagship fundraiser, “Ladies Night,” with a donation of two smart watches worth nearly $700 … thus continuing to grow our library’s future.

• Friends continued to support community-wide engagement initiatives, such as sponsoring Comicon and the Balloon Extravaganza Artist at Fall Festival … for we know that when we plant seeds of friendship in our community, we reap what we sow!

• Friends know that learning should take us beyond the walls of our library and the borders of Stillwater. And so in 2019 we once again provided museum passes, to grow our minds through accessible, exciting and educational adventures in the Capital Region.

Wanted!  More Friends!

In 2020 we will continue to plant our seeds, and grow the future… We need lots of friends to do our work!

We’ve Moved! (our meeting nights).

We are now meeting on the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Library.

Expecting a Bundle, Get a Bundle!

 

Are you expecting or know someone who is?  We’re giving away 2 “bundles for babies” every month.  Bundles include books for baby and beautifully handmade baby buntings.  Age: Newborn to 6 months.

 

Drawings are held the at the Friends monthly meeting (the second Wednesday of the month).

 

Must have a Stillwater Library card to apply. 

 

You can pick up an application at the Stillwater Library or send an email to: StillwaterLibraryFriends@gmail.com and put Bundle in the Subject line.
